What Do You Stand For?

The other day, while shopping at my new favorite store, Anthropologie, I happened to pick up a copy of Darling Magazine. I follow Darling on Instagram and am obsessed with their dreamy photos.

If you’re familiar with Darling, you know they have their manifesto on the back of the magazine. Their inspirations, ideals, and what it means to be a Darling woman. After reading it I thought, I want to be a Darling woman!

And feeling inspired by it, I decided to create my own manifesto. Something that shares what I believe in and stand for. Something that my dear clients can relate to and feel inspired by. Words to live by, and feelings to mold the lifestyle I love. Who I am, and what I love.

So dear one, here is my manifesto for you.

This is what makes me… me, and gets me out of bed in the morning.

I hope it gives you a sense of the real me and what I believe in. And inspires you to share what you stand for.

I want to live in a Free People catalog.
I love boho style. Messy hair, and fresh, natural beauty are my fave.
My favorite day is Champagne Sundays.
I live for being cozy on the couch with my man and 2 fur babies.
I believe in enjoying good wine and chocolate every day.
You can never have enough gold and sparkles.
Every woman deserves to feel fabulous.
The Olson Twins are my style gurus.
There are way too many items with fringe in my closet and that’s the way I like it.
Sometimes more is more.
My clients are my inspiration.
More than anything else, I care deeply about helping women to feel beautiful and amazing about themselves.
Makeup is art. We are all our own canvas and artist.
Taking care of yourself isn’t frivolous.
A day started with rocking out to Fleetwood Mac is always a winner.
Never apologize for how long it takes you to get ready.
If you feel like you’re in a style rut, channel your inner Madonna and Express Yourself.
There’s nothing that a good cocktail and phone call with a girlfriend can’t cure.
That moment when a woman realizes she can rock red lipstick is the moment I live for.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments below what gets you excited and what you stand for! Share with me what you love, or what you think of my manifesto. I’d love to hear your thoughts. And if any of these are a hell yes for you, then share that too!

Xo,
Melissa
